AT TATE BRITAIN: LOVE AND HEARTBREAK
Love and heartbreak - always popular themes in the Manga world. However, are there any good methods to show love, romance, and even heartbreak in a very popular media: manga? In this drop-in manga workshop, a manga Artist Inko Ai Takita will welcome visitors into the world of Manga. She explored art of these fantastic themes in her most recent manga, Lady Murasaki’s Tale of Genji: manga edition (Tuttle), which is a manga adaptation of the world’s first novel, which is colourised with countless love affairs. At event night, she can guide you to manga activities, which invites you to try drawing manga characters in love, in heartbreak, even in obsession. No manga knowledge or drawing experience are needed, just pop in, enjoy, and pop out whenever you want. You can either display any drawings you made at the workshop on the wall or take them home with you to continue your own unique love story.
At Clore Studio, Tate Britain 18.00 – 21.30, Friday 14th April
